Oregon Coast

When I moved to Portland, Oregon in 1990, one of my first adventures was a day at the coast. I was immediately enamored by the dark volcanic rock formations lacing through the wide shore.  Towering rocks, sea birds, and sea creatures dotted the expanse of ocean and forested cliffs often hugged the sand.  The Pacific, just the sight of it, continues to energize me. The water is icy but so invigorating and my plunges and swims exhilarate me.  A space for recreation, celebration, and contemplation, I like to photograph the place and the people who come to the ocean, how they animate the space and how they, like me, are enlivened by its presence.
